Carers Friendly Accreditation

The Carer Friendly Accreditation Scheme is a scheme designed and delivered by The Care Collective for all public and private workplaces to gain accreditation and become Carer friendly.

Carer Friendly has been designed by working with carers and is available to the following services working across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan and Gwent:

  • Healthcare services
  • Social care services
  • Further and higher education services
  • Third sector services

This year has seen an increase in organisations and individuals both pledging to a carers commitment and also requesting carers training. It is designed, administered and delivered by the Care Collective and supported by the Gwent Carers Regional Partnership. The Scheme aims to recognise, improve, and increase access to information and support for unpaid carers. There are 2 levels of accreditation; Carer Friendly Accreditation and Carer Friendly Advanced Accreditation covering five standards. There is also a carers commitment through a pledge that organisations are able to sign up to in order to become carer friendly. A panel, made up of carers and representatives from health, social care and charities and voluntary organisations assess the evidence submitted and award the suitable accreditation.
